Rare Vintage 1960's DECCA TP85
Portable Transistor Radio
The Decca TP85 is a very rare model and is one of the early transistor radios made in England.
It was produced in 1963 and it is a nine transistor (AF114, AF115, AF116x3, OC71, OC81D, OC81x2 ) plus six diodes three waveband portable radio
The example for sale is housed in a classic red leatherette covered wooden cabinet with a very attractive black dial and is complete with a strong carry handle. It has a long external straight telescopic aerial which is fully extendable for the best FM reception.
AM reception is from an internal ferrite rod.
The Decca TP85 covers the Long, Medium and VHF/FM wavebands.
It has sockets on the rear for am and fm aerials ,earphone, tape and pick-up.
The radio is complete and original and has been fully serviced. It is all in excellent condition, very clean internally and externally. As this is a 50 years old radio some age related marks are to be expected.

This Decca is working well on all waveband with smooth and scratch free controls and has a lovely sound from its large elliptical speaker.
This is a lovely example for vintage radio collectors and is also a great vintage radio for every day use.
A copy of the Decca TP85 Trader Service sheet plus a copy of the sales leaflet are included with the radio.
It requires two 9 volt PP9 batteries (not supplied)
