VINTAGE 1950's GEC MODEL BC1255 VALVE RADIO
This is a 4 valve two waveband all dry battery only portable radio from the late 1950’s.
Reception for Medium and Long waves is from an internal ferrite rod aerial.
The circuit board is an early example of a printed circuit board for valve radios with ceramic valve holders.
It is housed in a wooden case covered in beaded rexine with a strong carry handle.
It is absolutely original including its original set of GEC valves. It is all in excellent, very clean cosmetic condition and working well on both wavebands with plenty of volume and sensitivity. As this is a nearly 60 years old radio some small age related marks are normal and to be expected.
It requires 90Volt HT and 1.5 Volt LT supplies. The original batteries are no longer available but modern equivalents can be purchased from: http://www.classicradioshop.info/valve-and-transistor-radio-batteries
This radio has been testerd using an Amplion Convette battery eliminator.
The shipping is via courier.
Collection is always preferred for old valve sets .
