The one for sale is absolutely immaculate - near mint condition externally and internally with clear dial markings including all the stations on the slow motion tuning.
The real leather binocular case is in remarkable condition, the two zips are operating nicely, the dial is clean and bright, the three knobs are original and in excellent condition, the brass fittings are bright and untarnished and the small front grille is clean and undented.
The leather shoulder carry strap is complete with all of its original stitching.
It is a complete and original radio set, very clean internally and externally. This is a more than 57 years old set and some small age related marks should be expected.
I have provided lots of clear close up photos of this radio, please enlarge them in order to see the cosmetic condition in detail.
As not many radios of this model were produced the R77 became extremely rare and even more rare is to find one in this remarkable condition and working order.
This is a 'Must have' radio for serious radio collectors and comes complete with a colour copy of the original Roberts R77 Booklet and a copy of he Trader Service Sheet.
The radio is working on both wavebands but requires a 90 Volt HT and a 1.5 Volt LT supply (battery eliminator) as the correct batteries are no longer available.
It has been fully tested using an Amplion Convette battery eliminator and is working well on both wavebands.
