The R66 was introduced in April 1956 at £13. 19s. 9d. + PT. (which is around £460 today!)
The R66 is a 4 valve 2 waveband radio covering the medium and long wavebands from an internal ferrite rod aerial and featuring slow motion tuning.
The radio is housed in a very strong navy blue leather covered wooden case with a leather carry handle.
This is a rare Roberts 1950's valve radio in beautiful navy blue, complete and original item with bright and clean dial, correct knobs which are in excellent condition. The leather carry handle is complete but has signs of age and wear.
It has a rotating turntable disc on the base
The R66 is a more than 60 years old radio and therefore some small age related signs of use can be expected but in general the whole radio is in remarkable cosmetic condition.
This radio has been fully cleaned, checked and serviced and works very well on both wavebands with scratch free controls.
The R66 will work Directly from the mains from a built-in mains lead or requires a 90volt HT and a 1.5volt LT supply.
