This very high build quality Hacker radio is complete and original in any respect and it is a great item for serious radio collectors or for any one who appreciates the high quality and class of the transistor radios.
This radio set is all in excellent cosmetic condition and is working very well with smooth and scratch free controls on selector buttons with amazing sound from a large speaker.
I have provided a wide range of high quality photos in order to see the cosmetic condition in detail.
The VHF Herald RP37 was introduced in the 1969 and is an FM only version of the RP35 Herald. It is a single waveband portable covering only the FM band from 88 MHz to 101MHz. Quiet tuning between stations is optional via an inter-station muting button. AFC is also switchable. There are adjustable station markers.
The circuit employs 13 transistors and 4 diodes. 1.5 watts is available from a separate audio module feeding an 8" X 4" eliptical loudspeaker. Separate rotary bass and treble controls contribute to the high level of audio quality. Sockets are provided for an external or car aerial and output for tape recorder.
It has a swivel base telescopic aerial which is complete and straight.
This stunning Hacker radio set is housed in a red leathercloth covered wooden cabinet with a strong metal carry handle.
The radio requires two 9Volt PP9 batteries.
