Vintage 1950's DECCA TP22 - LW/MW Portable
Transistor Radio
The Decca TP22 was introduced in September 1959 at £15-2s-1d .
It is a battery only Medium and Long wave portable 6 transistor receiver.
It is housed in a very attractive, strong wooden case with a plastic covered steel carry handle.
There is a rear socket for an external aerial.
The whole radio is absolutely original and complete and it is in excellent condition considering its age. The radio has been fully checked, cleaned and serviced and works very well on both wavebands from an 8" internal ferrite rod aerial with clear sound from a 7"x 4" eliptical loudspeaker.
It is very rare to find a nearly 60 years old radio in this condition.
A wonderful item for radio collectors or anyone who likes the great sound of the vintage radios.
I have provided lots of clear close up photos of the radio in order to see the cosmetic condition in detail.
A copy of the Trader Service Sheet is included with the radio.
The radio works from 2 lantern style 6 volt batteries type 996 (not supplied but can be purchased for about £3 each)
