The R606 is one of the very high quality radios built by Roberts and covers the FM, Medium and Long Wavebands
It has a telescopic aerial for FM reception and an internal ferrite rod for the AM wavebands.
There are also headphone and external aerial sockets.
It has a strong plastic covered metal carry handle.
This classic radio is covered with beautiful maroon coloured leathercloth and has teak wooden ends.
It has separate Bass and Treble tone controls for superb sound from the large internal speaker and switchable AFC for accurate tuning and good station locking.
This Roberts R606 Radio is all original and in excellent cosmetic condition and still has its original 4 red movable station markers.
The whole radio is very clean externally and internally.
The maroon leathercloth covered cabinet is in excellent , near mint condition, complete with nice wooden ends and strong metal carry handle.
The battery compartment is very clean without any corrosion from battery leakage.
All the original knobs and push buttons are present and in perfect condition.
The 33" swivel base aerial is straight and fully extendable.
This is a used 40 years old radio and therefore it's normal to have some signs of age related marks. I have provided lots of clear close up photos of the radio. Please enlarge them in order to see the cosmetic condition in detail.
The radio has been fully checked, cleaned and serviced and works very well on all wavebands and sounds great.
The controls are smooth and scratch free.
This is a genuine completely original Roberts R606 radio.
The R606 works on either 6 'D' size batteries or from a 9 volt eternal power supply (neither supplied)
